He's got a LB from the same school in the very next round lb so it's not like he ignored the position. Besides who in the blue hell knows where these guys will rank come draft day anyhow. Some will climb and round or two and other may drop off teams boards completely.

That's why I call it mental masturbation. Right now it's tough to even figure the first two rounds out let alone all seven.

My own personal "Piss People Off" mock.

    1. Ziggy Ansah - Pep gets his walking papers because of his cap hit and this may be the most talented kid in the draft.
    2. Chris Faulk - LT of the future who was an easy first round talent before his knee injury. For now, he play LG with as much upside as anyone in the draft, giving us two interior starters returning from ACL tears.
    4. Devonte Holloman - FREAK MLB prospect
    5. Sanders Commings - Slim him down and keep him at CB
    6. Dennis Johnson - Love this kid's feet and hands, perfect third rb.

We NEED IOL starters so unless you are assuming we sign one or 2 guards and or centers this would leave us with the exact same OL that costed lovie his job and us the playoffs 2 years in a row

Another thing is I do like the bottom half but the top 2 fail to meet any needs we have

No rookie LT is going to beat Webb out other than jockel, so this leaves us with 5 returning starters, and Ewill/spencer are still the future plans and or injury replacements?

As far as drafting a DE in the first this just won't happen. Not unless Warmack, cooper, Johnson, T'eo, olgetree, minter, jones are ALL off the board AND we can't find a dance partner to move down. This is about the same odds of one of us hitting the powerball jackpot, just not realistic.

Trestman and Emery won't make the same mistakes as the past regime, so for all of you hoping for a shiny new position player at the top...don't hold your breath.

Making the same mistakes as the past regime will doom them to the same fate.

Now replace the top 2 with (insert Johnson, cooper Warmack, jones here) and (insert Warford Fredrick Minter, an unexpected BPA pick due to someone plunging like AJ did) and this mock is rock solid

This thought may belong in another thread but there may a good chance Pep will be willing to restructure his contract and we can avoid having to even consider releasing him. Personally I think THAT along with not re-signing Urlacher for another year or two would be a very bad idea. Not only do we lose talent but we lose leadership too so it's a double whammy.

It's up to Emery now. Keep the known talent and leadership while saving Cap Space to upgrade other areas on the team we really need. Go OL in the 1st and LB with the 2nd. The LB would have a great mentor to learn from for this year and not as much pressure as he would have as 1st rounder. 1 of Te'o, Brown, Minter & Ogletree will be available at #50.

Joeckel, Fisher and Johnson are the LTs worth being taken in the 1st. In that order and Joeckel would beat Webb as would Fisher. Johnson could do it. Depends on what Cromer can do with Webb. If we get a proven LG like Levitre, we could go with a LT like Webb or a project like Johnson. Carimi and Webb to battle it out at RT and the loser will be the swing tackle.

We will have options at the draft and after Free Agency, we will know more. If we sign a LT and no LG starter, it's safe to assume we will not draft a Johnson or if Fisher falls Fisher. In this case it would come down to Cooper vs MLB or CB Banks.

just another thought... if QBs will not get taken high because we've seen the success of Kap and Wilson this year being taken outside the 1st round... would you take the 2nd or 3rd best QB just to have him and a situation like the 9ers with the Rookie and Smith? Smith will end up in a trade and will bring them at least a 2nd.
